Running around and getting books out.

I’ve been at the Oregon State Fair for four days selling my books in the Oregon Author area. It was fun and exhausting. I met some new readers and connected with some authors so it was a good weekend. However, I came back tired and with a cold.

I have another big event this month. Oktoberfest in Mt. Angel, Oregon. I’ll be manning a NIWA (Northwest Independent Writers Association) booth with other NIWA members. We dress up in Bavarian clothing to stay in the spirit of the event. I have to try on my dresses and see if they still fit. I haven’t attended this event for a couple of years due to other commitments.

Once Oktoberfest is over, I can stay home and get more writing done. I’m currently working on the 9th book in the Spotted Pony Casino Mystery series. The premise for the death came from an online class I took from a Nez Perce Professor on the history of the Nez Perce. It has to do with allotments and how they are getting bought up by non-natives.

This coming weekend, I’m headed to Wallowa County to research the Hells Canyon Mule Days for the next Hawke book. I have a list of events that happen in the county and plan to slowly incorporated each one into the Gabriel Hawke Novels.

Right now you can pre-order Monologued to Death.

Book 2 in the Cuddle Farm Mysteries

When Andi Clark and her therapy dogs are invited to audition for a play at the historic Auburn Opera House, she expects a fun evening of helping local children build confidence. Instead, she meets a director whose razor-sharp tongue leaves a trail of hurt feelings wherever she goes.

Then, during a rehearsal, the director plunges from the theater’s balcony.

While Sheriff Skala follows the evidence, Andi and her best friend, Betty, trust Cocoa’s instincts. The gentle therapy dog had witnessed someone on the theater balcony before the fatal fall and caught the scent of something behind a locked door no one else thinks to question.

Between therapy animal visits to the local retirement home and hospital, Andi, Betty, and Cocoa discover a second body, proving the killer isn’t finished yet. As the suspects multiply and the danger grows, Andi realizes someone is determined to silence anyone who gets too close to the truth.

Can Cocoa sniff out the truth before the final curtain falls on another victim?
