This will be a post about some of the things I’ve done and seen the last month. Hopefully you’ll enjoy the photos.

This was the booth set up I used for the Miners Jubilee. I had hoped to make it as I would use it for the Bruneau Cowboy Christmas event in November. Due to the heat and having an author friend in the booth with me, it wasn’t set up as I had hoped. I am contemplating the size of tables I will need. The 8 ft table was too long to use both of my 4 ft tables too. I’ll have to mark off a 10 x 10 space and mess with the configuration before November.

Nia and a squirrel are having a stare-off in the city park. She loves to go to this park. But because she is on a leash, she can’t get to the squirrels, which frustrates her, especially because the squirrels know she can’t reach them. They sit at the base of trees until she just about reaches them, and then up the trees they go.

I don’t know what the flower is, but I thought the tree, flower, and steps made a pretty photo. This is one of the steps down to the river along the river walk way that Nia and I walk several times a week. It’s shady, I love the sound of the water, and Nia loves sniffing all the critters that use it as well.

This guy was in our driveway one morning. He likes the bushes that grow on the side hill out front. When we first bought the property, we had several bedding down every night in the front yard, because the house had been empty for so long they had taken the lawn and driveway over. Now we only have a couple that continue to come by. This guy and a doe with fawns and a younger buck.

This butterfly was resting on a tree along the river walk. It really stood out and stayed there long enough for me to get several photos. I loved all the colors and the fact I managed to get a photo of the butterfly with its wings spread.

A couple of weeks ago, hubby and I took a drive to Richland and Halfway, Oregon. They are about an hour from Baker City up toward the Snake River and the Wallowa Mountains. It was an interesting drive. We hadn’t been on that road since we took it from Wallowa County to Baker City when there was a huge fire in Hells Canyon. We stopped at the lookout and couldn’t see anything; it was so smoky. We’re hoping to make that trip again soon, and hopefully, we’ll get to see the canyon this time. Anyway, I took this photo after we came out of a restaurant. I thought it was funny. Halfway is the name of the town this store is in.

I’ve been staying inside to avoid the smoke that is filling the Baker Valley. There are fires all around us. Some just over the mountains. While staying inside, I’ve been working on Monologued to Death, book 2 in the Cuddle Farm Mystery series. Hoping to have it available by the end of August.
